Hypnotherapy for Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Sydney
Hypnotherapy for Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Sydney can be relieved with deep relaxation. Positive thinking can help people suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. The new approach uses a technique often known as positive visualisation and it can involve patients imagining the digestive system as a river. A study last year at Manchester University found three-quarters of IBS patients experienced an improvement in their symptoms after hypnotherapy, and the effects lasted for five years or more. In our Sydney office, we will treat the sources of anxiety allowing the natural flow in the intestines to function.
IBS, which is experienced by ten to 15 percent of the population, affects the digestive system and can cause stomach cramps, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. The causes of IBS include diet changes, laxatives and anti-depressants. The hypnotherapy treatment involves weekly sessions for six weeks, during which patients are given suggestions about how they can gain control over their gut.
IBS and Anxiety
IBS can also be influenced by anxiety and stress. When we get stressed, our bodies may not function the way it’s meant to. When we are emotionally traumatised, the energy in our body is compromised and the flow is not moving correctly. Exercise is always good to get this energy moving correctly. As we begin the process of moving the energy in our bodies, we are then able to feel more relaxed, revitalised and energetic. Anxiety and stress is the cause of many physical issues. Most issues stem from the mind first as we begin to construct beliefs in our subconscious mind. As this occurs, we manifest emotions associated with these beliefs which may not be good for us. The emotional reactions then manifest in the physical functions of the body. What the mind experiences, the body follows through as emotions and physical issues.
Do you suffer from Mental Illness or Depression?
Often these symptoms will be treated with drugs prescribed by a doctor. Anti-depressants, sleep medication, and perhaps a diet or stop smoking program will be prescribed. It’s a good idea to see a doctor first before seeing a Hypnotherapist.
With the duty of care for my clients, I need to ask before we proceed with a session. I am not able to facilitate Hypnotherapy if you have a mental illness such as Schizophrenia or Bipolar. If you are on Depression medication, you will need to get a doctor’s referral first before the session and bring the referral to the session.
