Awareness Healing offers effective Counselling Therapy in Sydney. Here we offer a range of effective therapies for a range of issues. Using a range of counselling therapy models, the therapist will listen, sympathise and help you find new coping tools and perspectives for problem-solving, making change and resolving issues. Here at Awareness Healing, we offer many styles of Counselling therapy ranging from Psycho-Analytical approaches, Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Therapies, Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness techniques.

This Counselling Therapy approach is more about finding truth and meaning from a spiritual perspective. In therapy, we are accessing the inner wisdom of spirit allowing this state of being to assist in the healing process. To access this spirit isn’t some hard thing to achieve. What most people believe about ‘being spiritual’ is that one must practice as a monk to achieve a high level of spiritual awareness. Although this is partly true, the process of beginning your connection to your soul is very simple. We access our unconscious mind through deep introspection, relaxation and reflection.

Being spiritual in Counselling Therapy is about allowing yourself to feel emotions and observe the human ego-self. It is not about separating you from your body but rather stepping aside to observe the big picture. Within your adult self in every present moment holds this wisdom. The key is to use the part of the mind that holds this wisdom. And relaxation is the key too exploring the mind and healing any issues that are present. You can be of any religion or spiritual practice to get the benefit of this holistic therapy.

Please give us a call if you have a particular issue not listed below. Once you give us a call, we can discuss the process of counselling, discuss if this therapy is appropriate for you and work out ways to assist in constructing a plan for change.

LGBTQ Therapy –  Gay Identity and Trauma Therapy

Here at Awareness Healing, we are very aware that the LGBTQ community are in need of support. In our Sydney clinic, we are able to work with all forms of trauma, abandonment, violence, neglect and the development of Identity. As a gay person, we have had to deal with great trauma, the neglect of the true authentic self has been denied of its truest essence. Through therapy, we will explore the process of developing a safe place to heal the child self as we learn to mature this part of us through the lens of our humanistic and individual qualities. This process is a slow but progressive building of confidence, self-esteem, motivation, individualism and the healing of our child identity which holds the riches of joy, wonder and creativity. Do you suffer from Mental Illness or Depression?

Often these symptoms will be treated with drugs prescribed by a doctor. Anti-depressants, sleep medication, and perhaps a diet or stop smoking program will be prescribed. On the phone consultation, you will be given an opportunity to discuss your mental health status first. It’s also a good idea to see a doctor before seeing a Counsellor, and get advice on whether it is safe to do so.

With the duty of care for my clients, I am not able to facilitate Counselling if you have a mental illness such as Schizophrenia or Bipolar. If you are on Depression medication, you will need to get a doctor’s referral first before the session and bring the referral to the session.

Commitment to the therapy

Hypnotherapy is a mutual and collaborative process. You and the practitioner will work together to develop goals on which you want to work on. We cannot change you but act as a facilitator. Only you can change yourself. You are responsible for making the effort to work on the problems or issues that concern you. We are committed to helping you in this process.

Hypnotherapy works best when you and your practitioner develop a strong working relationship based on mutual trust, honesty and respect. You should demonstrate a strong commitment which in time will bring you great benefits. If you are experiencing any problem relating to the practitioner, we encourage you to discuss these matters honestly and together a resolution can be made. Sometimes you and the practitioner may decide that it is best for you to meet with another practitioner.
