Hypnotherapy and trance work for the use of making changes has been very much misunderstood. In mainstream TV, we see extrovert magicians who are hungry to deceive the viewer with trickery when attempting to hypnotise people. And most people who don’t know what hypnosis is can be fooled into thinking that seeing people collapse when a hypnotist clicks his fingers is real hypnosis. Partially it is true but I will attempt to explain the misconceptions of hypnotic trance. You will now learn what hypnosis is and what it isn’t.

Firstly, I will explain to you what happens on stage with hypnosis on the internet and on TV. The hypnotist is very aware of who too hypnotise. The hypnotist chooses people who are rather more extrovert in nature. The people who are susceptible to suggestion show certain traits that will indicate to the hypnotist to choose this person for their demonstration. The hypnotist would ask questions and if the person responds in a particular way, the hypnotist would know that they are the best choice for their hypnosis. Only 5% of the population can go into a somnambulistic deep state. Often the person may not even remember what was said to them. So 95% of the population do not go into this deep trance. It doesn’t mean you’re not in a trance and hypnosis can not be effective for change and healing. Hypnosis is beneficial for all people and the state of trance is entered everyday from all people.

When you read a book or watch a movie, you’re always entering a trance state, which means you’re entering the Theta brain wave and communicating with the unconscious mind. In the unconscious mind, this is where our dreams, beliefs, all memories and behaviours are directed from, and direct our behaviours into the world we live in. Trance isn’t some mystical state that only a few buddhist monks can achieve. It is a natural state we all enter at different parts of our day. Everyday. It is simple gentle focus without judgment or analysis. It is the process of just observing thoughts, re-experiencing feeling states and creating spaces of stillness within a calm and relaxed mind. The body also has unconscious functions such as breathing and keeping still in dream states when asleep. It has a state of relaxing the body and also a state of reaction to threat. The unconscious mind interfaces with the body, keeping us alive, protected and calm. It can also react with anxiety when feeling at threat to danger. The unconscious mind doesn’t really know the difference between fantasy and reality, nor does it understand linear time. A threat may be always present for protection even if the trauma may have occurred many years in the past. This is how we store this threat in our unconscious mind and always express our feeling states as a reaction. This enables our behaviour, negative or positive, too manifest into our world. Feeling states then imprint pain or discomfort in our body, creating illness in a part of our body that is associated with the emotional and meridian centres in the body. The feelings never lie when finding the causal of the problem. We explore the origin of the issue by feeling discomfort in the body, then exploring our thoughts through Hypnotic trance. Here we observe the thoughts, use visual, auditory or kinaesthetic intervention to reframe the thoughts that created the feeling states and physical ailments. In deep hypnosis healing, we always go to the cause. We can not healing the effects such as illness and feeling states when these issues were created in the mind. Spirit is the higher mind that observes this and is able to assist when thoughts are recognised as illusory and misleading. True spiritual connection is key in dissolving unwanted ego mind chatter.

So we now know that trance is just focus. It isn’t about not thinking. And it isn’t magic. Trance is when the higher neo cortex of the brain is used, shifting from the reactive mind and emotional limbic brain. And using the problem solving mind to find clarity. Hypnosis is not manipulative nor is in a dangerous state where you are at threat from a practitioner.

Do you remember the Placebo effect many years ago? This experiment indicates that the mind can heal the body. And the power of suggestion can affect the wholistic structure of your whole being. Some people will want a Past Life Regression with no particular intention or reason. Some people may be curious about how it works or if it’s ‘real’. Like it’s going to be this instant magical life changing experience. We are connected to the universe, not the other way around. Now some people expect a full techni-colour vision where they expect to see through their human eyes. When you have your eyes closed, we are not visualising with our human eyes anymore, we are using our minds eye (Third eye – Pineal Glad). Some people who have PLR can be very disappointed because they don’t see the unfolding of their past life just like they see something on a TV screen. You have to work at relaxation first before you can get to that deep relaxed state. Then you can tune into what your higher self and the universe is trying to show you.

There are no magic wands. You are the master and healer of your destiny and you have the power to see and change it. Once your in a relaxed state, you then use imagination to decode what your unconscious mind is telling you. You can then easily communicate with it and give it new ways to behave, as it then changes our patterns of beliefs and feeling states that are limiting us. The more creative you are, the more change you can create for your unconscious mind to work with. How do you think the poets of this world work through their issues? Through expression. When we move to a past life, it is about moving towards it through the feeling state you are trying to clear. For example, if you want to express to someone how your boss has been bothering you at work, you would remember a time that your boss annoyed you, you would then feel the state of emotions in your mind and body where you will easily be able to tell your friend how you feel about it. Feelings are the tools used to get to the Past Life. Eliciting states is very important.
